c. During power-up, TI completes a self test routine. Ensure TI displays no errors
before continuing.
d. Ensure that REF FREQUENCY IN is disabled by pressing: SETUP, GLOBAL
PREF, REF FRQ INPUT, DISABLE, EXIT, EXIT.
e. If TI requires adjustment, place CAL switch on rear to ENABLE. Return switch to
DISABLE position when adjustments are saved and completed.
8. Time Base and Frequency Accuracy Verification
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect the time/frequency workstation 10 MHz output to frequency counter
REFERENCE IN (rear panel).
(2) Connect TI REF FREQUENCY OUTPUT (rear panel) to frequency counter
INPUT A.
(3) Set the frequency counter as listed in (a) through (e) below.
(a) FUNCTION frequency measurement.
(b) INPUT A.
(c) Coupling to 50 Ω.
(d) EXT REF to EXT.
(e) Gate time to 1 S.
(4) Enable the TI REF FREQUENCY OUTPUT by setting the controls as listed in
(a) through (d) below.
(a) SETUP.
(b) Softkey GLOBAL PREF.
(c) Softkey REF FRQ OUPUT.
(d) Softkey 10 MHZ.
(5) Verify that the frequency counter indication is between 9.99999960 and
10.00000040 MHz. If TI is not within these limits, perform b below.
(6) Disconnect TI REF FREQUENCY OUTPUT (rear panel) from the frequency
counter.
(8) Set the TI controls as listed in (a) through (d) below:
(a) MODE to Leveled Sine.
(b) FREQUENCY to 10 kHz.
(c) LEVEL to +13 dBm.
(d) OUTPUT to OPER.
(9) Verify that the frequency counter indication is within the limits of table 3.
(10) Repeat technique of (8) (b) and (9) above for each of the remaining frequencies
