c. Set the Electronic Load as in (1) through (4) below:
(1) AC circuit breaker to ON.
(2) DC circuit breaker to OFF.
(3) Range (volts) to TI rated output voltage from table 1.
(4) Range (current) to TI rated output current from table 1.
e. Connect all equipment to AC source and allow 30 minutes to warm-up and stabilize.
Set the autotransformer to 115 volts and set the TI line switch to on and allow warm-up as
required by manufacturer.
15 Front Panel Control Calibration
a. Performance Check
(1) Use the front panel controls, program voltage output for rated full scale value
(see table 1) and current output as required to obtain full scale voltage output.
(2) Record multimeter 1 indication.
(3) Using TI front panel controls, program voltage output for 0 V and three
additional points about 25, 50, and 75% of full scale. (If TI output cannot be set to 25, 50,
and 75% of full scale, set to 90% of full scale.) Repeat for each programmed voltage.
(4) Refer to table 1 range/accuracy (Programming Accuracy) specification and
calculate the limits for each programmed voltage in step (3) above.
(5) The values recorded must be within the corresponding values calculated in
step (4) above.
(6) Refer to table 1 range/accuracy Readback (Meter) accuracy specification and
calculate the limits for each programmed voltage in steps (3) and (4) above.
(7) The TI VOLTS display must indicate within the corresponding Readback
(Meter) accuracy limits calculated in step (6) for each programmed voltage in steps (3) and
(4) above.
(8) Set the electronic load DC circuit breakers to On.
(9) If using electronic load Astec America Inc., EL750B set the static current control
fully CW. If using electronic load Transistor Devices, DLP-130-50-2500, press and hold the
SHORT CIRCUIT switch to In/On as required when programming TI or making
measurements.
(10) Using TI front panel controls, program voltage for 5 V and current outputs for 0.
(11) Divide the multimeter 2 indication by the DC Current Shunt Certified
(12) Using TI front panel controls, program current output for 25, 50, 75% and full
scale. Repeat step (110 above at each programmed current.
(13) Refer to table 1 range/accuracy (Programming Accuracy) specification and
calculate the limits for each programmed current in steps (10) and (12) above.
(14) The recorded value in step (11) must be within values calculated in step (13)
above.
