(4) Press TI numerical key for 47.0 and then SPCL key to set TI impedance to
600 Ω. Set AMPTD to 1 V.
(5) Adjust A2R43 (CM) for minimum level on TI right display, but less than 0.2 mV.
(1) Allow equipment to warm up for 15 minutes.
(2) Remove TI top cover.
(3) Connect RF REFERENCE SOURCE frequency reference out to Oscilloscope
external trigger.
(4) Connect Oscilloscope vertical input to TI as directed below.
(a) For instruments with Serial Prefix 29224 and below, connect oscilloscope to
A8TP15.
(b) For instruments with Serial Prefix 2948A and above, connect oscilloscope to
A8TP2.
(5) Set Oscilloscope's vertical sensitivity to view TI time base reference.
Set
horizontal scale for 0.1 s per division. Set Oscilloscope to trigger externally.
(6) Adjust A8C27 (Serial Prefix 2922A and below), A8C41 (Serial Prefix 2938A and
above) for a waveform movement of 10 divisions per- second or less. A totally non-metallic
adjustment tool is recommended.
b. Input DC Offset Adjustment
(1) Remove top cover of TI; A2 board is located on left side of TI.
(2) Key in 41.0 SPCL to initialize TI. Set INPUT switch to ground. Set
MEASUREMENT to DC LEVEL.
(3) Connect 50 Ω feedthrough termination to TI HIGH INPUT.
(4) Adjust A2R44 (OFFSET) for a steady reading of -0.00 V on right display.
c. Notch Filter Tune and Balance Adjustment
(1) Press TI numerical key for 41.0 and then SPCL key to initialize TI.
(2) Set TI INPUT and OUTPUT FLOAT switches to ground, LOG/LIN switch to
LOG.
(3) Set AMPTD to 3 V. Set MEASUREMENT to DISTN.
(4) Connect equipment as shown in figure 4 below.
(5) Set Oscilloscope to view AC signal at rear-panel MONITOR output.
Set
Oscilloscope's trigger to external.
(6) Adjust A3R62 (TUNE OFST) and A3R63 (BAL OFST) for minimum signal and
noise on Oscilloscope display.
(7) TI right display should read -90 dB or less. Readjust two adjustments to
minimize reading on display which must be -90 dB or less.
