(8) Position TI controls as listed in (a) through (d) below:
(b) SCAN WIDTH PER DIVISION switch to 1 MHz.
(c) RANGE MHz switch to 0-11 (not on some models).
(9) Substitute function generator no. 1 for signal generator set for 10 MHz at 28.5
dBm.
(10) Adjust TI FREQUENCY control to place 10 MHz input signal on the far right
(+5) graticule line.
(11) Adjust function generator no. 1 level to obtain same display amplitude as
measured in step 7.
(12) Adjust frequency from 10 MHz to 1 MHz while observing power meter to ensure
function generator no. 1 output amplitude remains constant. Signal pip amplitude
displayed will remain between 6.6 and 7.4 divisions.
NOTE
If signal pip peaks above 7.4 divisions, readjust function
generator no. 1 level control for 7.4 divisions at that point and
continue checking the frequency response in the steps below.
(13) Repeat technique of step 10 through 12 to check 1 MHz to 100 kHz setting the IF
BANDWIDTH to 10 kHz and SCAN WIDTH PER DIVISIONS to .1 MHz.
(14) Repeat technique of step 10 through 12 to check 100 kHz to 10 kHz setting the
IF BANDWIDTH to 1 kHz, SCAN WIDTH PER DIVISIONS to 10 kHz and TI
FREQUENCY control to place the LO signal on the far left (-5) graticule line.
(15) Repeat technique of step 10 through 12 to check 10 kHz to 1 kHz setting the IF
BANDWIDTH to .1 kHz, SCAN WIDTH PER DIVISIONS to 1 kHz and TI
FREQUENCY control to place the LO signal on the far left (-5) graticule line.
(16) If the function generator no. 1 had to be readjusted per NOTE above, then repeat
the response test from 10 MHz to 110 MHz by setting the signal generator amplitude at 10
MHz to correspond with the displayed amplitude of the function generator no. 1 at 10 MHz
and repeat steps 1-6.
b. Adjustments. No adjustments can be made.
20. Average Noise Level (Sensitivity)
a. Performance Check
(1) Position TI controls as listed in (a) through (e) below:
(a) RANGE MHz switch to 0-110 (not on some models).
