Adjustments required to calibrate the TI are included in this procedure. Additional
maintenance information is contained in the manufacturer's manual for this TI.
d. When indications specified in paragraphs 8 through 13 are not within tolerance,
perform the power supply check prior to making adjustments. After adjustments are made,
repeat paragraphs 8 through 13. Do not perform power supply check if all other
parameters are within tolerance.
e. Unless otherwise specified, all controls and control settings refer to the TI.

personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.
a. Remove protective cover from TI only for access to adjustments or test points.
Reinstall upon completion of adjustments.
c. Connect autotransformer to a 115 V ac source and adjust for a 115 V output.
d. Turn SAMPLE RATE control to midrange and allow 1 hour for equipment to warm-
up and stabilize.
a. Performance Check
(1) Position controls as listed in (a) through (j) below:
FAST/NORM/HOLD switch to NORM.

FUNCTION switch to FREQ A (FREQ).
(b)
TIME BASE/MULTIPLIER switch to 10s.
(c)
SLOPE switch(es) to + (plus).
(d)
AC/DC switch(es) to AC.
(e)
ATTEN switch(es) to X1.
(f)
CHK/SEP/COM (CHK/NORM) switch to SEP (NORM).
(g)
LEVEL control(s) to PRESET.
(h)
STORAGE switch (rear panel) to OFF.
(i)
OSC switch (rear panel) to INT.
(j)
(2) Connect a 1 MHz output signal from time/frequency workstation to REF INPUT
of frequency difference meter.
(3) Connect TI OSC jack (rear panel) to TEST INPUT of frequency difference meter.
(4) Adjust A4C3 (fig. 1) for minimum difference indication on frequency difference meter.
