20. Equipment Setup
WARNING
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
this calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.
a. Remove protective covers only to gain access to adjustments.
b. Connect TI to 115 V ac source.
c. Position controls as listed in (1) through (4) below:
(1) BW-BEAM FINDER switch to FULL.
(2) Position CH 1 and CH 2 controls as listed in (a) through (g) below:
(a) VOLTS/DIV switches to 20 mV.
(b) VARIABLE controls to CAL.
(c) POSITION controls to midrange.
(d) INPUT switches to DC.
(e) MODE switch to CH 1.
(f) TRIGGER switch to NORM.
(g) INVERT switch pushed.
(3) Position TRIGGERING controls (A and B) as listed in (a) through (d) below:
(a) LEVEL controls to 0.
(b) SLOPE switches to + (positive).
(c) COUPLING switches to AC.
(d) SOURCE switches to INT.
(4) Position sweep controls as listed in (a) through (j) below:
(a) DELAY TIME MULTIPLIER control to 0.10.
(b) A AND B TIME/DIV AND DELAY TIME switches to .5 ms.
(c) A VARIABLE control to CAL.
(d) A SWEEP MODE switch to AUTO TRIG.
(e) B SWEEP MODE switch to TRIGGERABLE AFTER DELAY TIME.
(f) HORIZ DISPLAY switch to A.
(g) MAG switch to OFF.
(h) A SWEEP LENGTH control to FULL.
(i) POSITION controls to midrange.
(j) Side panel controls: B TIME/DIV VARIABLE control to CAL.
d. Set POWER ON switch to ON.
e. Allow 20 minutes for TI to warm-up and stabilize.
f. Adjust INTENSITY, FOCUS, and SCALE ILLUM controls for suitable viewing.
g. Adjust CH 1 POSITION control to center trace on center horizontal graticule line.
