d. Pull POWER switch to on and allow 2 hours for warm-up.
e. Observe indication on TI. Function and mode indications on crt will be as listed in
(1) through (13) below.
(1) VERT DISPLAY to 10 dB/DIV.
(2) FREQUENCY control to 0 MHz.
(3) VERTICAL DISPLAY 10 dB/DIV pushbutton on.
(4) REFERENCE LEVEL to +30 dBm.
(5) RF ATTEN to 60 dB.
(6) FREQUENCY RANGE to 0-1.8 GHz.
(7) AUTO RESOLUTION pushbutton on.
(9) FREQUENCY SPAN/DIV to MAX.
(10) TRIGGERING FREE RUN pushbutton to on.
(11) READOUT pushbutton on.
(12) DIGITAL STORAGE VIEW A/VIEW B pushbuttons on.
(13) All other pushbuttons inactive.
f. Position controls as listed in (1) through (5) below:
(1) MIN RF ATTEN dB control to 0 dB.
(2) PEAK AVERAGE control fully ccw.
(3) TIME/DIV switch to AUTO.
(4) REFERENCE LEVEL control to -20 dBm.
(5) INTENSITY control for desired brightness.
g. Observe RF ATTEN indication on crt. RF ATTEN indication will display 10 dB.
h. Connect CAL OUT to RF INPUT.
i. Adjust FREQUENCY control until dot on upper left corner of TI is aligned with
first 100 MHz marker display on crt (far right of crt).
j. Position FREQUENCY SPAN/DIV control for a 100 MHz indication on crt. (Dot
will now be in the center of crt and first 100 MHz marker will be at or near a center
graticule line.) If dot is not at center, adjust horizontal POSITION control to aline dot
with center graticule line.
k. Press VERTICAL DISPLAY 2 dB/DIV pushbutton. If baseline is not aligned with
bottom graticule line, adjust vertical POSITION control to aline baseline with bottom
graticule line.
