c. Unless otherwise specified, verify the result of each test and whenever the test
requirement is not met, take corrective action before continuing with the calibration.
Adjustments required to calibrate the TI are included in this procedure. Additional
maintenance information is contained in the manufacturer's manual for this TI.
d. When indications specified in paragraphs 13 and 14 are not within tolerance,
perform the power supply check prior to making adjustments. After adjustments are made,
repeat paragraphs 13 and 14. Do not perform power supply check if all other parameters
are within tolerance.
e. Unless otherwise specified, all controls and control settings refer to the TI.

REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.
a. Remove side panels from TI and sampling unit.
b. Remove the 5/16 inch nut on TI front panel TRIG INPUT connector and remove
connector from front panel.
c. Loosen four screws holding TI trigger board (right side) and lift up so it can be
supported by top chassis channel.
d. Connect TI to sampling unit as shown in figure 1 and in accordance with special
instructions in (1) and (2) below.
(1) Remove minicoaxial connector (second connector with red and white wire) from
top of TI and cover loose end with tape to avoid contact with components. Insert special
minicoaxial cable through chassis of TI and connect to second connector.
(2) Remove coaxial cable connector from sampling unit left side second connector
(red and white wire on sampling unit inner channel control board) and cover loose end with
tape. Connect other end of special minicoaxial cable to second connector.
e. Install TI into horizontal compartment of oscilloscope No. 1, using extender. Install
sampling unit in right vertical compartment. Install sampling head in sampling unit.
f. Connect oscilloscope No. 1 to a 115 V ac source; energize and allow at least 20
minutes for equipment to warm-up and stabilize.
g. Position TI controls as listed in (1) through (11) below:
(1) TIME POSITION control fully cw.
(2) SLOPE pushbutton - (negative) pressed.
(3) TRIG LEVEL control to midrange.
(4) STABILITY control fully cw.
