(24) Enter 500 MHz on TI DATA keyboard. Measuring receiver will indicate within
minimum and maximum limits computed in (23) above; if not, perform b below.
(25) Press TI OUTPUT HEAD ON/OFF pushbutton (turn output OFF) and
disconnect measuring receiver from TI.
(26) Press TI FREQUENCY REFERENCE pushbutton and connect multimeter to
TI using precision 50 Ω termination.
(27) Press TI OUTPUT HEAD ON/OFF pushbutton (turn output ON) and repeat
(8) through (26) above for TI DATA keyboard entries (output voltages) of 550 mV, 552 mV,
and 5.0 V.
b. Adjustments
(1) Press the TI OUTPUT HEAD ON/ OFF pushbutton (turn the output OFF) and
disconnect TI.
(2) Set power module POWER switch to OFF and remove TI from power module.
Set DIP switch SW3020 (rear panel of TI) toggle number 3 to closed position.
NOTE
Turn TI facing rear panel connectors. DIP switch SW3020 is
accessed through rear panel, just below rear GPIB interface
connector. Set toggle number 3 to closed position, (third toggle
from top, pressed to left). Toggles 1, 2 and 4 remain in open
(pressed right) position.
(3) Insert TI into power module and set power module POWER switch to ON.
Allow 30 minutes for TI to warm-up before continuing.
CAUTION
Once started, the remainder of this adjustment procedure must
be completed exactly as described. Any deviation from this
sequence will result in instrument misadjustment.
(4) Connect TI to multimeter input through precision 50 Ω termination.
Set
multimeter to measure dc volts.
(5) Press TI OUTPUT HEAD ON/OFF pushbutton (turn output ON).
(6) Press TI SET UPS SPCL pushbutton on front panel.
(7) Press 99 and ENTER pushbuttons on DATA keyboard.
(8) Observe that TI readout displays 1 on left side of display and current calibration
constant number on right side of display.
NOTE
When you press ENTER pushbutton, front panel red RECAL
indicator will illuminate and remain illuminated until
adjustment process is completed. The number on the left of
display will increase one number each time ENTER
pushbutton is pressed, indicating calibration steps 1 through 12.
