(22) Adjust MARKER control until marker on crt is at the beginning of the leading
edge of the spike at the end of the fiber trace (best position obtainable) (fig. 1). Record LCD
reading. (INTENSITY adjustment may be required to see spike.)
(23) Set POWER switch to OFF.
(24) Carefully disconnect 1 meter multimode fiber jumper cable from the multimode
test fiber. Replace dust cap and carefully reconnect the 1 meter multimode fiber jumper
cable to the left hand connector of the multimode test fiber.
(25) Set POWER switch to ON.
(26) Adjust DIST/DIV control to 200 meters.
(27) Press VERTICAL SCALE 5 dB/DIV pushbutton.
(28) Adjust MARKER control until marker on crt is on the shoulder of the first step
from the left of the trace.
(29) Adjust DIST/DIV control to 10 meters.
(30) Press VERTICAL SCALE .5 dB/DIV pushbutton.
(31) Adjust VERTICAL POSITION control to center trace.
(32) Adjust MARKER control until marker on crt is on the shoulder of the first step
(best position obtainable). Record LCD reading.
(33) Adjust DIST/DIV control to 200 meters.
(34) Adjust MARKER control until marker on crt is on the shoulder of the second
step of the trace.
(35) Adjust DIST/DIV control to 10 meters. Adjust VERTICAL POSITION control
to center trace.
(36) Adjust MARKER control until marker on crt is on the shoulder of the second
step (best position obtainable). Record LCD reading.
(37) Adjust DIST/DIV control to 200 meters.
(38) Adjust MARKER control until marker on crt is on the shoulder of the third step.
(39) Adjust DIST/DIV control to 10 meters.
(40) Adjust MARKER control until marker on crt is on the shoulder of the third step
(best position obtainable). Record LCD reading. Set POWER switch to OFF. If any TI
indications are not within 5 meters of multimode test fiber certificate value, perform b
below.
b. Adjustments
(1) Set POWER switch to OFF and remove the cover over the deflection
(2) Perform (a) through (c) below:
(a) Remove the narrow section and one wide section of the extender board set.
(b) Pull up the deflection amplifier board.
(c) Insert the extender sections to interface the board to the TI.
