Adjustments required to calibrate the TI are included in this procedure. Additional
maintenance information is contained in the manufacturers' manuals for this TI.
d. Unless otherwise specified, all controls and control settings refer to the TI.
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.
a. Connect the temperature probe to the multimeter INPUT as shown in temperature
application software HP3458 TEMP READOUT. Connect the controller to the multimeter
using the IEEE GPIB. Execute software HP3458 TEMP READOUT.
b. Connect TI to the multimeter input terminals, observing polarity.
8. Temperature Calibration
a. Performance Check
(1) Insert TI and thermometer into the same depth in Cool/Heat Source. Maximum
submersion depth of TI 80T150 series is 2 inches.
(2) Set the Cool/Heat Source to the first temperature listed in the applied column of
(3) Allow the Cool/Heat Source temperature to stabilize.
(4) The multimeter and standard thermometer must agree within the corresponding
values listed in the Limits column of table 3. If TI does not indicate within the Limits
column of table 3 for the TI, perform paragraph b below.
(5) Repeat steps (2) through (4) for each remaining applied value listed in table 3. If
TI does not indicate within the Limits column of table 3 for the TI, perform paragraph b below.
