a. Install vertical amplifier into oscilloscope LEFT VERT compartment and time base
unit into B HORIZ compartment. Remove TI protective covers.
b. Install TI into oscilloscope A HORIZ compartment, using extender.
c. Position oscilloscope controls as listed in (1) through (6) below:
(1) VERT MODE LEFT pushbutton pressed.
(2) HORIZONTAL MODE A pushbutton pressed.
(3) A and B TRIGGER SOURCE VERT MODE pushbuttons pressed.
(4) A and B INTEN and INTENSITY controls to a convenient display on oscilloscope.
(5) P u l l P O W E R s w i t c h t o o n a n d a l l o w 2 0 m i n u t e s f o r e q u i p m e n t t o
w a r m - u p a n d stabilize.
(6) Adjust READOUT control for a convenient readout display on oscilloscope.
d. Position TI controls as listed in (1) through (12) below:
(1) TRIGGERING MODE P-P AUTO pushbutton pressed.
(2) TRIGGERING COUPLING AC pushbutton pressed.
(3) TRIGGERING SOURCE INT pushbutton pressed.
(4) B DELAY MODE INDEPENDENT pushbutton pressed.
(5) TRACE SEP control to OFF.
(6) FINE and POSITION controls to midrange,
(7) TIME/DIV switch to 1 ms.
(8) VARIABLE control pressed to in (CAL).
(9) MAG pushbutton pressed to in (X1).
(10) HOLD OFF control to MIN.
(11) DELAY TIME control fully ccw.

8. Basic Sweep Calibration, Magnified Gain and Registration
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect oscilloscope calibrator SOURCE/MEASURE CHAN 1 to vertical
amplifier CH1 input, using 50 feedthrough termination.
