42. Frequency and Sensitivity
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect function/arbitrary generator OUTPUT to TI CHANNEL A EXT
INPUT, using cable and termination.
(2) Set AVERAGES to AUTO, change as needed for best reading.
(3) Adjust function/arbitrary generator frequency to 10 Hz and amplitude to
minimum.
(4) Slowly increase function/arbitrary generator amplitude until TI displays a
stable count. The TI CHANNEL A LEVEL control might have to be adjusted for a stable
readout. Function/arbitrary generator will indicate 20 mV rms or less.
(5) Repeat technique of (4) above at 1 kHz, 100 kHz, 1 MHz, and 5 MHz.
Function/arbitrary generator amplitude will indicate 20 mV rms or less at each frequency.
(6) Disconnect function/arbitrary generator from TI and connect signal generator
RF OUTPUT to TI CH A EXT INPUT, using adapter, cable, and termination.
(7) Set AVERAGES to AUTO (change as needed) and repeat technique of (4) above
at 10 MHz, 50 MHz, 100 MHz, and 135 MHz. Signal generator will indicate 20 mV rms or
less at 10 MHz and 50 MHz and 40 mV rms or less at 100MHz and 125 MHz.
(8) Set function/arbitrary generator output to minimum and disconnect from TI.
(9) If there was an out of tolerance in any of the previous steps proceed to
(10) If in tolerance proceed to paragraph 44.
b. Adjustments. No further adjustments can be made.
