b. Press POWER switch ON and allow 30 minute warm-up.
c. Throughout this procedure soft keys are identified by the use of brackets [ ] around
the key.
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect the time/frequency workstation standard 10 MHz output to frequency
counter REFERENCE IN (rear panel). Configure the frequency counter for an external
time base reference.
(2) Connect TI BNC output to frequency counter A input and and set frequency
(3) Set TI as listed in (a) through (g) below:
(a) Press RF IN/OUT SELECT to select BNC output.
(b) Press Rx TEST key then [RF Gen].
(c) Press FREQ and set to 10 MHz.
(d) Press LEVEL and set to -10 dBm.
(e) Press Rx TEST, [Mod Gen], [Gen1/Gen2] until MOD1 FREQ is
highlighted, then press ON OFF key to off.
(f) Press Rx TEST, [Mod Gen], [Gen1/Gen2] until MOD2 FREQ is
highlighted, then press ON OFF key to off.
(g) Press Rx TEST, [RF Gen] then press ON OFF key to on.
(4) Adjust frequency counter as necessary for a stable indication and push reset. If
frequency counter indication is not between 9.999999 and 10.000001 MHz, perform b below.
(5) Set TI output to minimum and disconnect equipment setup.
(6) Connect frequency counter 10 MHZ OUT (rear panel) to TI EXT. STD 1/5/10
MHz input (rear panel).
(7) Connect TI BNC output to frequency counter A input and set frequency counter
(8) Set TI as listed in (a) through (d) below:
(a) Press RF IN/OUT SELECT to select BNC output.
(b) Press Rx TEST key then [RF Gen].
(c) Press FREQ and set to 400 kHz.
(d) Press LEVEL and set to -10 dBm.
(9) Set frequency counter for 1 Hz resolution. If frequency counter indication is not
within limits specified in first row of table 3, perform b below.
(10) Repeat technique of (8) and (9) above for remaining frequencies listed in table 3.
If frequency counter indication is not within limits specified in table 3, perform b below.
