TEKTRONIX, TYPE 1101
6. Preliminary Instructions
a. The instructions outlined in paragraphs 6 and 7 are preparatory to the calibration
process. Personnel should become familiar with the entire bulletin before beginning the
calibration.
b. Items of equipment used in this procedure are referenced within the text by common
c. Unless otherwise specified, verify the result of each test and, whenever the test
requirement is not met, take corrective action before continuing with the calibration.
Adjustments required to calibrate the TI are included in this procedure. Additional
maintenance information is contained in the manufacturer's manual for this TI.
d. Unless otherwise specified, all controls and control settings refer to the TI.
WARNING
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
this calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.
a. Remove top protective cover from TI.
b. Connect test load unit to one of TI POWER OUT connectors.
c. Set LINE VOLTAGE selector switches (right side) to HI and 115.
d. Connect autotransformer to a 115 V ac source and adjust controls for a 115 V ac output.
e. Connect TI to autotransformer and set POWER switch to ON. Allow 10 minutes for
equipment to warm-up and stabilize.
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect multimeter across test load unit +15 V terminals. If multimeter does
not indicate between +14.89 to +15.11 V dc, perform b below.
(2) Momentarily short test load unit +15 V terminals. Check that voltage is still
within tolerance.
(3) Vary autotransformer output between 105 and 125 V ac. Check that voltage is
still within tolerance. Adjust autotransformer for 115 V output.
