7. Equipment Setup
a. Connect TI to a 115 V source. Turn TI range selection switch to 25
and allow 1
hour warm-up time.
b. Clean all surfaces before connecting test leads. Connect the leads to the standard
resistor and verify a solid connection between test leads and standard resistor.
c. Connect the two red leads to TI terminals C1 and P1. Connect the two black leads
to TI terminals C2 and P2.

(1) Connect the decade resistor to the multimeter with a 4-wire connection (fig 1,
connection A).
(2) Select the first test point in table 4 and adjust the decade resistor (if necessary) to
the nominal resistance value as observed on the multimeter.
(3) Connect the leads to the TI (fig. 1, connection B) and measure on the appropriate
range. TI must indicate within the limits.
(4) Repeat technique of (1) through (3) above for the remaining ranges listed in table 4.
TI must indicate within the limits listed in table 4. If not, perform c below.
