CAUTION
Do not apply current to coil any longer than necessary to
complete check. If not strictly observed, this could result in
damage to, or destruction of, equipment.
(2) Connect coil to the applicable ammeter calibrator output
connector
corresponding to the first range listed in the ammeter calibrator Range column.
(3) Clamp TI around coil.
(4) Set TI for first range listed in Range column.
(5) Set ammeter calibrator for first range listed in ammeter calibrator Range
column.
(6) Set calibrator for the first value listed in the Applied column and set OPR/STBY
switch to OPR.
(7) Press ammeter calibrator OPERATE button. If TI indication is not within limits
specified, perform b below.
(8) Set ammeter calibrator to STANDBY and set calibrator to STBY.
(9) Repeat technique of (2) through (8) above for remaining ranges and applied
values listed in Range and Applied columns. If TI indication is not within limits specified,
perform b below.
(10) If applicable, disconnect equipment setup.
b. Adjustments. Refer to TI manufacturer's manual for corrective action.
a. Performance Check
(1) Press calibrator RESET key.
NOTE
If TI has 2-wire capability only, select the TI's lowest resistance
range, connect test leads that are to be used during calibration
to TI RESISTANCE terminals, short test leads together and
press TI REL switch if available. If REL switch is not
available, record reading with leads shorted and subtract the
ohms value from the TI reading before editing the calibrator
setting. If TI has 4-wire Ω capability, connect the calibrator to
TI utilizing 4-wire configuration, and in (5) below, press the
calibrator 2-wire Comp softkey to Off and EX SNS On.
(2) Connect TI RESISTANCE terminals to calibrator OUTPUT terminals,
observing polarity.
(3) Set TI controls for the first range listed in the Range column. Some TIs require
the test leads be changed to different jacks for range changes.
(4) Set calibrator for the first value listed in the Applied column and set OPR/STBY
switch to OPR.
