7. Equipment Setup
WARNING
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
this calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S)  to  minimum  after  each  step  within  the
performance check where applicable.
NOTE
Verify that the proper CAL FACTORS are loaded for the
measuring receiver power sensor module.
NOTE
Ensure measuring receiver measurement accuracy is set to high.
a. Connect sensor modules to the power reference output. Perform sensor zero and
calibration.
b. Connect equipment as shown in figure 1 and allow equipment to warm up for 1 hour
before performing paragraph 8 below.
c. Locate TI in appendix A, B, or C and prepare a list of test frequencies for insertion
loss check.
d. Refer to appendix A, B, or C and note frequencies used for parameters listed in (1)
through (4) below:
(1) Frequency stop-band and attenuation.
(2) Attenuation at 3 dB maximum.
(3) Attenuation at 40 dB minimum.
(4) Attenuation at 60 dB minimum.
8. Insertion Loss and Rejection Test
a. Performance Check
NOTE
The frequency range of the TI will determine which sensor
module is used.  504: 100 kHz 4.2 GHz, 518: 10 MHz
18 GHz.
(1) Adjust synthesized signal generator frequency controls to the first test frequency
recorded in 7 d above and adjust output for 0.0 dBm.
(2) Configure measuring receiver for tuned RF level measurements and manually
enter carrier frequency into measuring receiver. Record reading as reference.
