CALIBRATION PROCESS
6. Preliminary Instructions
a. The instructions outlined in paragraphs 6 and 7 are preparatory to the calibration
process. Personnel should become familiar with the entire bulletin before beginning the
calibration.
b. Items of equipment used in this procedure are referenced within the text by common
c. Unless otherwise specified, verify the result of each test and, whenever the test
requirement is not met, take corrective action before continuing with the calibration.
Adjustments required to calibrate the TI are included in this procedure. Additional
maintenance information is contained in the manufacturer's manual for this TI.
d. Unless otherwise specified, all controls and control settings refer to the TI.
a. Attach active head to TI CH1 and allow 20 minutes for TI to warm-up.
b. With nothing connected to the active head, perform self test by pressing MODE,
[TEST] [ALL]. Ensure that TI and active head pass all self tests before continuing. Press
[EXIT] when self test is completed.
NOTE
TI base unit (mainframe) and active heads are calibrated
separately. The active head calibration does not need to be
current to verify the performance of the base unit, but it must
be functional. There is no dependence upon, or interaction
between, a particular head or base combination. Calibration
data is stored in the appropriate base unit or active head.
There is also no significant difference between channel outputs
on the base unit. CH 1 will be used for all measurements.
NOTE
Complete the entire procedure before performing alignment in
paragraph 11. Report (R) all points that were out of tolerance
(i.e. 19 V dc) before adjusting.
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect TI CH 1 output to multimeter INPUT through active head.
(3) Set TI as listed in (a) through (m) below:
(a) Major function, MODE
(b) [MANUAL]
