TB 9-6625-156-24
IDENTIFICATION AND DESCRIPTION
This bulletin provides instructions for the
1. Test Instrument Identification.
calibration of Radar Test Set, TS-4530A/UPM (Tel Instrument Part Number 89000215).
IETM 43-6625-949-13&P and the TS-4530A/UPM Radar Test Set Field Maintenance Utility
was used as the prime data source in compiling these instructions. The equipment being
calibrated will be referred to as the TI (test instrument) throughout this bulletin.
The TS-4530A/UPM is similar in appearance to the
a. Model Variations.
TS-4530( )/UPM. The TS-4530A/UPM differs from TS-4530( )/UPM by the GPS/KIV77
receptacle (white plastic hinged cover), USB receptacle on left side and S3 (4-way vs. 1-way)
navigation switch. All specifications and instructions in this technical bulletin apply to the
TS-4530A/UPM only.
b. Time and Technique. The time required for this calibration is approximately 90
minutes, using the microwave technique.
2. Forms, Records, and Reports. Forms, records, and reports required for calibration
personnel at all levels are prescribed by TB 750-25.
3. Calibration Description. TI parameters and performance specifications which
pertain to this calibration are listed in table 1.

Pertains to the accuracy of a carrier wave signal only provided by TI when utilizing the field maintenance utility. Actual
1
frequency accuracy for pulse measurements are specified in IETM 43-6625-949-13&P.
2 Specified for pulse measurement only. Maximum carrier wave power is +43 dBm (20 W).
3 Accuracy measurements of pulse power and carrier wave power by the TI are consistent.
