15. Pulse Modulation
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect equipment as shown in figure 3.

(2) Press TI keys as listed in (a) through (f) below.
(a) Preset.
(b) RF On Off to off.
(c) AMPTD, 0, and dBm.
(d) FREQ, 5, and GHz.
(e) RF On Off to on.
(f) Pulse, and Pulse Off/On to on.
(3) Set oscilloscope as listed in (a) through (f) below.
(a) Vertical 1 Input 50 Ω to on (lit).
(b) Vertical 1 scale to 2 mV.
(c) Trigger Source to 1.
(d) Trigger Sweep to Auto.
(e) Trigger Slope to
.
(f) Horizontal sweep speed to 10 nS.
(4) Measure rise time and verify that the oscilloscope indication is less than the rise
time limit listed in table 19.
(5) Select the remaining oscilloscope measurement types listed in table 19 and
repeat technique of (4) above for the appropriate measurement type.

(6) Reduce output to minimum, disconnect equipment setup, and reconnect as
shown in figure 4 using the OPT 526 power sensor. Zero and cal the power meter.
