NOTE
Some of the earlier WSP500's were wired differently internally.
To determine which connection configuration to be used during
calibration, a simple resistance test should be performed as
described in paragraph a below.
a. Resistance Test
(1) With multimeter set to 2-wire resistance mode, connect the TI red lead to
approximately 100 Ω, go to step (2) below. If the resistance reading is between 0 to
2 ohms, then disconnect the green lead and connect TI to multimeter as follows:
Green to Sense HI.
White to Sense LO.
Red to Input HI.
Black to Input LO.
If the above connections were made, go to step (3) below.
(2) If resistance reading between red and green is approximately 100 Ω, remove the
green lead and connect the TI black lead to the multimeter input LO. Check that reading
is now between 0 to 2 ohms, and if so, disconnect black lead and connect TI to multimeter
as follows:
Black to Sense HI.
White to Sense LO.
Red to Input HI.
Green to Input LO.
(3) Set multimeter to 4-wire resistance mode.
NOTE
The color coded connections described in the software to be
downloaded in paragraph b below may be different from the
connections made in paragraph a above. Use connections
from paragraph a above when using the downloaded software.
b. Software Download
(1) Go to USATA home page, Publications, Controller Automated Tools, and click on
Procedures.
(2) Scroll down the Link File column and click on PRTCoefficient.exe.
A pop-up
window will appear that asks to run or save this file.
(3) Click on Run button, and then Run again on next pop-up.
(4) At next pop-up window click on Unzip button, (C:\THERMOMETER or note
location where folder will unzip to), then OK, and close all windows and exit USATA site.
