d. Connect oscilloscope to TI TP213 (fig. 11) and adjust R273 (fig. 11) for minimum
1 kHz signal on oscilloscope.
e. Move oscilloscope connection to TI TP212 (fig. 11) and adjust R263 (fig. 11) for
minimum 1 kHz signal on oscilloscope.
f. Disconnect equipment setup.
29. Microphone Amplifier Level Gain
a. Press {[HELP/SETUP], [Diagnostic], [B1 Setup]}, [Return], [MIC Level]
([Return] key should be pressed when making consecutive adjustments).
b. Connect TI AF GEN OUT to PLJ1 (fig. 11) (GND to PLJ3 (fig. 11)).
c. Connect multimeter configured for AC Volts measurements to TI TP70 (fig. 11) and
ensure multimeter indicates between 60 mV and 140 mV rms.
d. Connect multimeter configured for AC Volts measurements to TI TP71 (fig. 11) and
adjust R83 (fig. 11) for 1.00 V rms 10 mV.
30. Modulation Meter AM
a. Press TI [MEM] key and then recall memory 01.
b. Press TI [TX TEST] key then press [SELECT] key to select ANTENNA input.
c. Press TI [TX FREQ], 100 MHz, [Return], [MOD METER], then press
[A.M./F.M.] (or [AM/FM/SSB] if SSB decode option is installed) to select AM.
NOTE
TI 30 kHz I.F. filter and 0.3 to 3.4 kHz A.F. filter should
already be selected from power on. If not, select them.
d. Connect measuring receiver to signal generator output.
e. Set signal generator for a 100 MHz, 0 dBm signal, with 50% AM at a 1 kHz
modulation rate.
f. Configure measuring receiver for AM depth measurement.
Record measuring
receiver indication.
g. Set signal generator output to off and disconnect measuring receiver.
Connect
signal generator output to TI ANTENNA input.
h. Set signal generator output to on. Adjust R143 (fig. 11) so TI modulation meter
indication is equal to that recorded in f above.
