5. Accessories Required. The accessories required for this calibration are common
usage accessories, issued as indicated in paragraph 4 above, and are not listed in this
calibration procedure. The following peculiar accessory is required: Collar, NVD Alignment,
PN DYN400-C.
CALIBRATION PROCESS
6. Preliminary Instructions
a. The instructions outlined in paragraphs 6 and 7 are preparatory to the calibration
process. Personnel should become familiar with the entire bulletin before beginning the
calibration.

c. Unless otherwise specified, verify the result of each test and, whenever the test
requirement is not met, take corrective action before continuing with the calibration.
Adjustments required to calibrate the TI are included in this procedure. Additional
maintenance information is contained in the manufacturer manual for this TI.
d. Unless otherwise specified, all controls and control settings refer to the TI.
NOTE
Avoid exposing NVD detector standards to excessive light
conditions. Attach NVD detector standards using a black cloth
while connecting to auxiliary device and/or turning off some of
the lights in the room to promote more stable readings and
reduce recovery time. When the NVD standard is connected to
the source and alignment collar, ensure it is securely seated to
minimize light exposure.
a. Shield lens of TI from light using a protective cap or a piece of black cloth.
b. Ensure source is off.
c. Connect reference NVD detector standard as shown in figure 1 using alignment collar.
d. Set multimeter to measure DCV, AUTO range, NPLC 100.
e. Turn reference NVD detector standard and TI power ON/OFF switches to ON.
