c. Unless otherwise specified, verify the result of each test and, whenever the test
requirement is not met, take corrective action before continuing with the calibration.
Adjustments required to calibrate the TI are included in this procedure.  Additional
maintenance information is contained in the manufacturer's manual for this TI.
d. When indications specified in paragraph 9 are not within tolerance, perform the
power supply check and adjustments in paragraph 10. If power supply adjustments are
made repeat paragraphs 8 and 9. Do not perform power supply check if all other
parameters are within tolerance.
e. Unless otherwise specified, all controls and control settings refer to the TI.
7. Equipment Setup
WARNING
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
this calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S)  to  minimum  after  each  step  within  the
performance checks where applicable.
CAUTION
To avoid damage to the plug-in circuitry, power must be OFF
on the mainframe power module before connecting the TI.
a. With power OFF, connect TI to mainframe power module using extender.
b. Pull mainframe power module ON-OFF PWR switch to ON and allow at least 30
minutes (60 minutes if stored in high humidity environment) for equipment to warm-up
and stabilize.
c. Remove left or right side covers of TI as necessary to make connections or
adjustments. Replace cover(s) after completing adjustments.
8. Time Base
NOTE
Adjustment of the Time Base Oscillator is no longer performed
unless an out of tolerance value is determined while
performing the Time Base Performance Check.
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect TI 1-MHz test point (fig. 1) using 10 X probe to frequency difference
meter SIG INPUT.
(2) Connect time/frequency workstation 1 MHz OUTPUT to frequency difference
meter REF INPUT, using cable.
