Adjustments required to calibrate the TI are included in this procedure. Additional
maintenance information is contained in the manufacturer's manual for this TI.
d. When indications specified in paragraphs 8 through 11 are not within tolerance,
perform the power supply check prior to making adjustments. After adjustments are made,
repeat paragraphs 8 through 11. Do not perform power supply check if all other
parameters are within tolerance.
e. Unless otherwise specified, all controls and control settings refer to the TI.
7. Equipment Setup
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
this calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.
a. Remove TI protective cover as needed to make adjustments.
b. Connect TI to autotransformer.
c. Connect autotransformer to a 115 V ac source and adjust output to 115 V.
d. Press POWER pushbutton to ON and allow at least 1 hour for stabilization. If TI
has been disconnected from line power for more than 24 hours, allow at least 24 hours for
warm-up before beginning calibration.
e. Position controls as listed in (1) through (5) below:
(1) FUNCTION pushbutton to FREQ A.
(2) GATE ADJ control fully ccw.
(3) GATE MODE pushbutton to NORM.
(4) CYCLE pushbutton to NORM.
(5) INPUT (channels A and B) controls as listed in (a) through (h) below:
(a) PRESET controls fully ccw.
(b) FILTER pushbuttons (out) (option 040).
(
(c) Z = 1 M /50 pushbuttons to 1 M (out). (Z = 50
pushbuttons to 1 M
out) (option 040).
(d) X10 ATTN pushbuttons to X1 (out).
(e) SLOPE pushbuttons to positive (out).
(f) AC pushbuttons to DC (out).
(g) COM A pushbutton to ON (in).
(h) AUTO TRIG pushbutton to ON (in).
