9. Channels A and B Sensitivity
a. Performance Check
Output to INPUT A, using termination.
(1) Connect function generator 50
(2) Set function generator frequency to 1 kHz and slowly increase output until TI
displays a stable indication of applied frequency. If function generator output exceeds 25
mV, perform b below.
to 10 MHz.
(4) Press channel A AC pushbutton to AC (in) and repeat technique of (2) and (3)
above. Function generator output will not exceed 25 mV.
(5) Substitute signal generator for function generator, using termination.
to 200 MHz. Signal generator output will not exceed 25 mV.
(7) Press channel A AC pushbutton to DC (out) and repeat (6) above.
(8) Remove termination from setup and reconnect.
(9) Press channel A Z = 1 M /50
(Z = 50 ) (option 040) pushbutton to 50
(in)
and repeat (6) above.
(10) Connect function generator 50
Output to INPUT A.
kHz to 10 MHz. Function generator output will not exceed 25 mV.
(12) Press SCALE, SMOOTH, 1, 7, and ENTER pushbuttons and press COMA
pushbutton off (out).
(13) Repeat (1) through (11) above for channel B INPUT, except vary frequency of
signal generator from 10 to 100 MHz in (6) above.
b. Adjustments
(1) Connect equipment as shown in figure 2, connection A (connection B for channel B).
(2) Set function generator frequency to 1 kHz and output for 25 mV.
(3) Set oscilloscope for X-Y mode and calibrate by centering the dot on the screen.
(4) Adjust A3 R96 and A3 R88 (channel A option 030) (fig. 3); A12 R105 and A12
R110 (channel A option 040) (fig. 3); A3 R47 and A3 R37 (channel B option 030) (fig. 3); A12
R53 and A12 R43 (channel B option 040) (fig. 3) to midrange.
(5) Adjust A3 R96 or A12 R105 (channel A); A3 R47 or A12 R53 (channel B) to
position waveform at center of screen. Adjust A3 R88 or A12 R110 (channel A); A3 R37 or
A12 R43 (channel B) for 20 mV p-p on the X-AXIS as shown in figure 4 (R).
