7. Equipment Setup
WARNING
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
this calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S)  to  minimum  after  each  step  within  the
performance check where applicable.
a. Install TI into sampling unit in right vertical compartment of oscilloscope.
b. Install S-4 SAMPLING HEAD into second sampling unit and install in left vertical
compartment of oscilloscope.
c. Press oscilloscope POWER pushbutton to ON and allow 10 minutes for warm-up.
8. Pretrig Output
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect PRETRIG OUT (85ns) to input of S-4 SAMPLING HEAD using
2X attenuator.
(2) Measure pulse width using standard measurement technique. Pulse width as
indicated on oscilloscope will be between 2 and 6 ns with at least 1 V in amplitude.
b. Adjustments. No adjustments can be made.
9. Delay
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect PRETRIG OUT (85ns) to CHANNEL A and PULSE OUTPUT to
CHANNEL B of frequency counter.
NOTE
Cables must be of equal length.
(2) Measure delay, using standard measurement technique. If frequency counter
does not indicate between 80 and 90 ns, perform b below.
NOTE
It may be necessary to adjust frequency counter level controls
to obtain frequency counter indications.
b. Adjustments
(1) Press oscilloscope POWER pushbutton to OFF.
(2) Remove TI from sampling unit (leave cables connected).
(3) Remove TI protective cover.
(4) Install extender (012-0124-00) in sampling unit.
