14. Preliminary
Instructions
a. The
procedures in paragraphs 15 through 22 should be
performed only if an
out-of-
tolerance condition exists in paragraphs 8 through 13 or if an error message on the bottom
line of the crt display is:
TEST 04 XX
where XX is 01, 02, 10, or 11 when POWER pushbutton is pressed to ON.
b. When performing paragraphs 19 through 22, touch only
specific control or
controls called out in the procedure. Movement of any other control may cause erroneous
c. Within the
automatic calibration procedure, the
calibration constants for timing,
vertical gain, and trigger level are generated by the system microprocessor and stored in
nonvolatile memory. The adjustments in CAL 01, 02, 03 should be done in numerical
sequence.
d. When performing automatic CAL steps, initial setting of front-panel controls is
not required.
WARNING
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
this calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.
a. Press TI POWER pushbutton to OFF and disconnect TI from the 115 V ac source.
Remove protective cover and move cal/no cal jumper (P501) on A5 control board (right side
of TI) to "cal" position.
b. Connect TI to a 115 V ac source and press POWER pushbutton to ON and allow at
least 20 minutes for equipment warm-up.
NOTE
When POWER pushbutton is pressed to ON, TI automatically
performs a self-test sequence. Upon successful completion of
self-test, TI will be in normal operating mode.
