CAUTION
The four-channel test set is very sensitive to static discharge.
All maintenance or operation should be performed with the
antistatic mat and wrist strap, which are supplied with TI. All
cables being connected to TI should be shorted to the antistatic
mat, TI, or ground prior to connecting to TI.
a. Place antistatic mat in a suitable location and connect grounding lead and wrist
strap to an earth ground.
b. Place TI on antistatic mat while using wrist strap.
c. Connect umbilical cable between mainframe and plug-in (rear connectors).
d. Connect TI mainframe to a 115 V ac source. Set POWER STBY/ON switch to ON
and allow at least 15 minutes for equipment warm-up.
NOTE
When mating APC 3.5 connectors to APC 3.5 connectors or
devices, torque all connections to 8 in/lbs. When mating APC
3.5 to SMA or SMA to SMA, torque all connections to 5 in/lbs.
a. Performance Check
(1) Set POWER STBY/ON switch to STBY.
(2) Press and hold down the top or bottom FUNCTION key (vertical) and set
POWER STBY/ON switch to ON continuing to hold key until the graticule lines are displayed.
