(10) SET (to accept the new temperature set-point, display will indicate UN=C).
(11) EXIT (hold down momentarily to return to the temperature display).
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect the temperature probe to the multimeter INPUT as shown in
temperature application software HP3458 TEMP READOUT. Connect the controller to the
multimeter using the IEEE GPIB. Execute software HP3458 TEMP READOUT.
NOTE
Temperature of the well varies with depth. The test limits are
applicable only in the round insert at the bottom of the well.
The temperature probe must be inserted such that it touches
the bottom and fits closely, without binding, on the sides.
NOTE
Some temperature values are available on more than one range
in the temperature application software HP3458 TEMP
READOUT. Ensure that the range specified in the following
tables is used.
(2) Place temperature probe into TI cold side round insert.
(3) Set the TI temperature controller for the first value in table 3 by pressing the
keys as listed in (a) through (d) below.
(a) SET twice (to access the temperature set-point value).
(b) UP or DOWN (to change the temperature set-point value to first value in
(c) SET (to accept the new temperature set-point, display will indicate UN=C).
(d) EXIT (hold down momentarily to return to the temperature display).
(4) Allow TI to reach set temperature and stabilize on both the TI display and the
instrument controller screen. This will take several minutes.
(5) TI will indicate within the limits of table 3; if not perform b (1) through (10)
below.
