(1) Place temperature probe into TI cold side round insert.
(2) Set the TI temperature controller to 0 C (the first value in table 5), by pressing
the keys as listed in (a) through (d) below.
(a) SET twice (to access the temperature set-point value).
(b) UP or DOWN (to change the temperature set-point value to first value in
(c) SET (to accept the new temperature set-point, display will indicate UN=C).
(d) EXIT (hold down momentarily to return to the temperature display).
(3) Allow TI to reach set temperature and stabilize on both the TI display and the
instrument controller screen. This will take several minutes.
(4) To adjust R0 (the first value in table 5), enter the calibration menu by pressing
keys as listed in (a) through (f) below.
SET + EXIT (press simultaneously to enter SECondary menu).
(a)
SET (to enter PROP, proportional band).
(b)
SET (to enter CONFIG/PARameters).
(c)
UP (to enter SERIAL).
(d)
UP (to enter CAL).
(e)
SET 5 times (to enter R0 parameter ).
(f)
(5) Press UP or DOWN to change the value of the R0 calibration constant, then
press SET. If the value on the instrument controller screen is high, the constant must be
reduced. The approximate sensitivity of the R0 adjustment is 40 counts equivalent to about
NOTE
Sensitivity of the adjustments in table 5 is approximate.
Incrementing or decrementing the calibration constant using
approximation involves trial and error to obtain the correct
measured temperature. A more precise increment or decrement
value can be calculated after entering and noting the effects of the
first approximate constant value. The difference between the
initial constant and the new constant, divided by the difference in
initial temperature and the new temperature, will result in a
constant per 1 C value. Divide this value by 10 for constant per
0.1 C value and 100 for constant per 0.01 C value.
