3. DC Current Characterization.
NOTE
A fully calibrated 8508A standard is not required to
characterize DC current.  Only the 200 mV dc and 2 V dc
ranges are used.  If a calibrated 8508A standard is not
available, use the DC voltage sections of this procedure to
ensure that the 200 mV dc and 2 V dc ranges are in tolerance
before continuing.
(1) Prepare multimeter for zeroing by connecting equipment to a low thermal
binding post such as that shown in figure A-3.
(2) From the multimeter CONFIG menu, de-select [FAST], then zero multimeter
on the 2 V dc and 200 mV dc ranges.

(3) Ensure that multimeter is set to DCV, range to AUTO.
(4) Connect equipment as shown in figure A-4 using the first resistance standard in
table A-4.
