c. Unless otherwise specified, verify the result of each test and, whenever the test
requirement is not met, take corrective action before continuing with the calibration.
Adjustments required to calibrate the TI are included in this procedure. Additional
maintenance information is contained in the manufacturers' manuals for this TI.
d. Unless otherwise specified, all control and control settings refer to the TI.
WARNING
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.
a. Set TI function switch to DC 20V; for the 40/400 model set TI function switch to
V. DC should be shown on the display.
b. Plug the red test lead into the VOLT terminal and the black test lead into COM
terminal. For the 40/400 auto ranging model slide the terminal cover on the bottom to the
left to expose the V/Ω and COM terminals. Plug the red test lead into the V/Ω terminal
and the black test lead into COM terminal.
c. Ensure calibrator is set to standby.
a. Performance Check
NOTE
For the 40/400 auto ranging meter for DC voltage (Defaults to
Lo): Lo: 0-39.99 V (Shifts to Mid at 40.00 V), Mid: 15.0-399.9 V
(Shifts to Lo at 14.9 V and to Hi at 400.0 V), Hi: 150-1000 V
(Shifts to Mid at 149 V).
(1) Connect calibrator to TI VOLTS (V/Ω for the 40/400 auto ranging model) and
COM inputs.
(2) Set calibrator output for the first value in table 3. TI will indicate within limits
specified in first row of table 3 for the model being calibrated. If TI does not indicate within
limits specified in table 3, perform b below.
(3) Repeat technique of (2) above, for the remaining settings and indications listed
in table 3. TI will indicate within limits specified in table 3. If TI does not indicate within
limits specified in table 4, perform b below.
