e. Position vertical amplifier controls as listed in (1) through (4) below:
(1) POSITION control to midrange.
(2) Polarity switch to + UP.
(3) Input coupling switch to DC.
(4) CH 1 VOLTS/DIV switch to 1 V.
f. Adjust oscilloscope INTENSITY and FOCUS controls for suitable viewing.
8. Triggering
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect calibrator OUTPUT HI and LO to vertical amplifier CH 1 and TI
MAIN TRIG IN.
(2) Set calibrator output frequency to 50 kHz, and amplitude for 8 divisions of
display on TI crt.
(3) Adjust vertical amplifier POSITION control to vertically center the signal on
oscilloscope display.
(4) Rotate the MAIN TRIGGERING LEVEL control throughout its range while
observing oscilloscope display. If triggering point does not occur at least 3.5 divisions above
and below the center horizontal graticule line, perform b below.
(5) Set MAIN TRIGGERING SLOPE switch to
and repeat (4) above.
(6) Press MAIN TRIGGERING SOURCE EXT pushbutton and repeat (4) above.
(7) Set MAIN TRIGGERING SLOPE switch to
and repeat (4) above.
(8) Move connection from MAIN TRIG IN to DLY'D TRIG IN and press MAIN
TRIGGERING SOURCE INT pushbutton.
