7. Equipment Setup
WARNING
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
the calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S)  to  minimum  after  each  step  within  the
performance check where applicable.
a. Remove protective cover from TI as required to make adjustments. Replace cover
after completing the adjustments.
b. Position controls as listed in (1) through (20) below:
(1) INTENSITY control fully ccw.
(2) UPPER and LOWER SCREEN store pushbutton to non-store (out).
(3) UPPER and LOWER SCREEN ENHANCE pushbutton to off (out).
(4) LOCATE/ENHANCE LEVEL control fully ccw.
(5) MODE pushbutton to AUTO (in).
(6) TIME/DIV switch to .5 ms.
(7) TIME/DIV VAR control to CAL (detent).
(8) TIME/DIV MAG switch to X1 (out).
(9) SLOPE/LEVEL switch to + (positive).
(10) SLOPE/LEVEL control to midrange.
(11) TRIGGER SOURCE pushbutton to CH 1 (in).
POSITION control to midrange.

(13) EXT ATTEN pushbutton to OUT.
(14) 5 MHz BW pushbutton in.
(15) CH 1 and CH 2 coupling pushbuttons to DC (out).
(16) CH 1 and CH 2 VOLTS/DIV switches 1 mV.
(17) CH 1 and CH 2 VOLTS/DIV VAR control to CAL (detent).
(18) CH 1 and CH 2 POSITION controls to midrange.
(19) Vertical mode pushbutton to CH 1 (in).
(20) INVERT pushbutton in.
c. Connect TI to a 115 V ac source.
d. Pull POWER switch to on and allow at least 20 minutes for warm-up.
e. Adjust INTENSITY, CH 1 and
POSITION controls to center an optimum
display on TI.
