a. Performance Check
(1) Position TI controls as listed in (a) through (e) below:
HORIZ DISPLAY pushbutton A to on (in).
(a)
(b)
VERT MODE pushbutton CH 2 to on (in).
(c)
CH 1 and CH 2 VOLTS/DIV switches to 5 m.
(d)
A and B TIME/DIV switches to .1 μs.
(e)
(2) Connect oscilloscope calibrator to CH 2 input through X10 attenuator and 50
Ω termination.
(4) Adjust oscilloscope calibrator for 6 divisions (5 divisions for Tektronix, Type 466
SN B200000 and above) of vertical deflection on TI. If square wave has displayed
aberrations of more than +1 or -1 minor division or 1 minor division p-p, perform: b (1)
below for Tektronix, Type 466 with SN below B200000; b (2) below for Tektronix, Type 466
with SN B200000 and above; b (3) below for Tektronix, Type 464.
(5) Remove connection from CH 2 input and connect to CH 1 input and press
VERT MODE pushbutton CH 1 to on (in).
(6) Repeat technique of (4) above for CH 2. If square wave has displayed
aberrations of more than +1 or -1 minor division or 1 minor division p-p, perform: b (4)
below for Tektronix, Type 466 with SN below B200000; b (5) below for Tektronix, Type 466
with SN B200000 and above; b (6) below for Tektronix, Type 464.
(7) Disconnect oscilloscope calibrator from TI and set A and B TIME/DIV switches
to .2 ms and press VERT MODE pushbutton CH 1 to on (in).
(8) Connect oscilloscope calibrator to CH 1 input through X 10 attenuator, 50 Ω
termination, and 5 - 80 pF standardizer.
