(8) Press TI OUTPUT HEAD ON/OFF pushbutton (turn output OFF) and
disconnect TI from spectrum analyzer No. 2.
b. Adjustments
(1) Press TI OUTPUT HEAD ON/OFF pushbutton (turn output OFF) and
disconnect TI from spectrum analyzer.
(2) Set power module POWER switch to OFF and remove TI from power module.
Set DIP switch SW3020 (rear panel of TI) toggle number 3 to closed position.
NOTE
Turn TI facing rear panel connectors. DIP switch SW3020 is
accessed through rear panel, just below rear GPIB interface
connector. Set toggle number 3 to the closed position, (third
toggle from the top, pressed to left). Toggles 1, 2, and 4 remain
in open, (pressed right) position.
WARNING
Heat sinks and power resistors on back of (A7) output board
are hot enough to cause skin burns.
(3) Remove fasteners that secure power module top cover, but do not remove the
cover. Remove TI right side cover and insert TI into left compartment of power module
(right compartment of power module must be empty in order to permit access to
adjustments).
(4) Set power module POWER switch to ON and allow 30 minutes for TI to
warm-up before continuing.
(5) Connect TI to spectrum analyzer No. 2 INPUT 50
through dc blocking capacitor.
(6) Press TI pushbuttons as listed in (a) through (c) below:
(a) AMPL and enter 5 V on DATA keyboard.
(c) OUTPUT HEAD ON/OFF (turn output ON).
(7) Adjust spectrum analyzer No. 2 controls to view TI 500 MHz output signal.
Adjust spectrum analyzer No. 2 controls to establish an amplitude reference point of TI
output that will permit a measurement at least 40 dB below reference point. Note
reference point.
NOTE
Do not change amplitude reference level on spectrum analyzer
No. 2 during the remainder of this procedure unless indicated.
(8) Rotate TI control knob to decrease TI output frequency to 295 MHz.
