Throughout this procedure soft keys are identified by the use of
brackets [ ] around the key.
NOTE
TI will automatically go to power save mode after 4 minutes
due to inactivity. TI will also change back to MEAS mode after
30 seconds in STIM mode. To reactivate TI from power save
mode, press any key. Press SEL to reenter stimulus mode.
a. Press and hold PWR for 2 seconds.
NOTE
After power on, the hand-held radio tester automatically starts
built-in test (BIT) check to ensure proper operation of the
device, initially displaying "BIT IN PROGRESS...". If the three
batteries are too low, the BIT check will not continue past the
battery check. Upon completion of a passing BIT check, "RF
MOD: PASS" and "CONTRL: PASS" is displayed for 2 seconds.
Then  the  radio  tester  automatically  switches  to  the
measurement mode (MEAS is displayed in upper left corner of
the display). When the batteries are reduced to a charge level
equivalent to 15 minutes remaining, the battery status
indicator will flash at a 1 Hz rate. Charge or replace dead
batteries before performing calibration.
b. When the BIT check is successfully completed, toggle the * and verify the display
glows while TI is in MEAS mode.
8. Frequency Accuracy
a. Performance Check
(1) Set signal generator output level to -20 dBm at 100 MHz and ensure signal
generator output is OFF.
(2) Connect equipment as shown in figure 1.
NOTE
Do not use cables between directional power sensor and TI
connection or TI and termination.
(3) Set RF amplifier to CH 2 (20 MHz-1 GHz) and gain to 100.0%.
(4) Set signal generator output to ON and toggle the RF power amplifier out of
STBY (LED off).
(5) TI will indicate between 99.998 MHz and 100.002 MHz. If not, perform b below.
(6) Set signal generator output to OFF and toggle RF power amplifier to STBY
(LED on).
