power reading greater than 1 Watt, check the direction of
power into power sensor, connections, etc.
NOTE
The RF amplifier provides 50 dB of gain when set to 100.0%. 20
Watts is equal to +43 dBm. For each 3 dB increase of the signal
generator output level, the power in Watts will double.
(1) Ensure equipment is connected as shown in figure 1.
(2) Ensure RF amplifier is set to CH 2 (20 MHz-1 GHz) with gain set to 100.0%.
(3) Set signal generator output to ON and toggle the RF power amplifier out of
STBY (LED off).
(4) Monitor RF power meter while increasing signal generator output level until TI
FWD PWR reads 25.0 Watts.
(5) RF power meter will indicate between 20.0 and 30.0 Watts.
(6) Set signal generator output to OFF and toggle the RF power amplifier to STBY
(LED on).
NOTE
The TI will not provide a reading below 3 Watts in this reverse
power simulation due to circuit design. A reverse power
reading below 3 Watts on TI is only attainable by connecting
the TI as intended for use. The TI will display a frequency
reading used by the TI to compensate for TI power reading for
