REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.
CAUTION
Do not twist the body of thermistor mount when connecting
and disconnecting. Twisting can cause major damage to the
thermistor mount circuit.
a. Connect Thermistor mount to Power meter interconnect cable.
b. Press Power meter POWER switch to on position.
c. Press TI POWER switch to on position and allow all equipment to warm-up for
30 minutes.
a. Performance Check
(1) Manually configure Power meter for selected Thermistor mount.
(2) Ensure the TI 50 MHz reference is turned off, then connect Thermistor mount to
TI 50 MHz reference output connection.
(3) Enter the 478A-H75 Power meter 50 MHz calibration factor into the
Power meter.
(4) Zero Power meter.
(5) Turn on the TI 50 MHz reference by performing (a) through (d) below:
(a)
Press MENU key.
(b)
Scroll to REF POWER ON/OFF.
(c)
Press ENTER key.
(d)
Select ON and then press ENTER key.
(6) Record the measured power.
(7) TI Will indicate 1.000 mW 0.012 mW. If TI is not within tolerance, perform
b below.
b. Adjustments
(1) To change the setting of the power output of the TI calibrator, the password
must be known if it has been set. If the password is unknown, locate jumper A2W1 located
on TI analog PC board and move A2W1 to position A.
(2) Determine the percentage amount TI calibrator output is out of tolerance and
record percentage. Example: If calibrator output is 0.5 percent low, then increase CALFAC
by 0.5 percent.
