10. Continuity
a. Performance Check
(1) Set TI function switch to
.
(2) Press TI FUNC key to select HI alarm.
(3) Use TI ▲ and ▼ keys to set HI alarm to 40 Ω.
(4) Press TI FUNC key to return to measurement function.
(5) Connect 1-turn coil to resistance standard output terminals.
(6) Set resistance standard to 50 Ω.
(7) Clamp TI around coil at output terminals. TI will beep and display will indicate HI.
(8) Press TI FUNC key to select LO alarm.
(9) Use TI ▲ and ▼ keys to set LO alarm to 30 Ω.
(10) Press TI FUNC key to return to measurement function.
(11) Set resistance standard to 10 Ω. TI will beep and display will indicate LO.
(12) Unclamp TI and press FUNC key until SEC is displayed.
(13) Press TI ▲ and ▼ keys and ensure value can be incremented/decremented.
(14) Clamp TI around coil at output terminals. When displayed indication is stable,
press REC key.
(15) Set resistance standard to 20 Ω.
When displayed indication is stable, press
REC key.
(16) Set resistance standard to 30 Ω.
When displayed indication is stable, press
REC key.
(17) Set resistance standard to 40 Ω.
When displayed indication is stable, press
REC key.
(18) Set resistance standard to 50 Ω.
When displayed indication is stable, press
REC key.
(19) Unclamp TI and press FUNC key until NO. and 0000 are displayed.
(20) Press TI ▲ and ▼ keys to scroll and ensure values stored in (14) through (18)
above are displayed.
(21) Turn TI function switch to OFF.
(22) Press and hold TI REC key and turn TI function switch to Ω. TI will display CL
to indicate memory is cleared.
(23) Turn TI function switch to OFF.
(24) Press and hold TI FUNC key and turn TI function switch to Ω. When a beep is
heard release FUNC key. TI will not display AP symbol in lower left of display.
(25) Set resistance standard to 10 Ω and clamp TI to 1-turn coil.
(26) When TI displayed indication is stable, press HOLD key.
