(a)
FREQUENCY RANGE pushbutton to 0-1.8 GHz.
(b)
FREQUENCY SPAN/DIV control to 100 MHz.
(c)
FREQUENCY control to 100 MHz.
(d)
REFERENCE LEVEL control to -20 dBm.
(e)
VERTICAL DISPLAY 2 dB/DIV pushbutton on.
(f)
FREQUENCY SPAN/DIV control to 500 kHz.
(g)
RESOLUTION BANDWIDTH control to 1 MHz.
(h)
PEAK AVERAGE control fully cw.
(i)
DIGITAL STORAGE VIEW A, VIEW B pushbuttons on.
(j)
TIME/DIV switch to AUTO.
(k)
MIN NOISE pushbutton on.
(l)
TRIGGERING FREE RUN pushbutton to on.
(3) Adjust FREQUENCY control to center CAL OUT signal on crt.
(4) Measure the -6 dB down bandwidth (fig. 31, A).
Bandwidth will indicate
between 0.8 and 1.2 MHz. Record reading.
(5) Press VERTICAL DISPLAY 10 dB/DIV pushbutton.
(6) Estimate the -60 dB down bandwidth (fig. 31, B). Record estimate.
(7) Calculate the shape factor, using readings recorded in (4) and (6) above. (Shape
factor is derived by 60 dB bandwidth divided by 6 dB bandwidth.) Shape factor will equal
7.5:1 or less.
(8) Repeat technique of (3) through (7) above for remaining RESOLUTION
BANDWIDTH settings listed in table 8.
Table 8. Time/Division Accuracy Check.
