23. Residual Response
a. Performance Check
(1) Position controls as listed in (a) through (h) below:
(a) FREQUENCY RANGE pushbutton to BANDS 1-3 (100 kHz-7.1 GHz).
(b) FREQUENCY SPAN/DIV control to 10 MHz.
(c) REFERENCE LEVEL control to -50 dBm.
(d) MIN RF ATTEN control to 0 dB.
(e) RESOLUTION BANDWIDTH control to 10 kHz.
(f) TIME/DIV switch to AUTO.
(g) VERTICAL DISPLAY 10 dB/DIV pushbutton to on.
(h) DIGITAL STORAGE (option 02) VIEW A/VIEW B pushbutton on.
(2) Scan the frequency range of bands 1, 2, or 3 in 100 MHz increments. Note
amplitude of any spurious response. Spurious amplitude must not exceed -100 dBm. (By
activating ΔF after each increment, it is easier to determine 100 MHz increments.)
b. Adjustments. No adjustments can be made.
