6. Preliminary Instructions
a. The instructions outlined in paragraphs 6 and 7 are preparatory to the calibration
process. Personnel should become familiar with the entire bulletin before beginning the
calibration.
b. Items of equipment used in this procedure are referenced within the text by common
c. Unless otherwise specified, verify the result of each test and, whenever the test
requirement is not met, take corrective action before continuing with the calibration.
Adjustments required to calibrate the TI are included in this procedure. Additional
maintenance information is contained in the manufacturers' manuals for this TI.

Unless otherwise specified, all controls and control settings refer to the TI.
WARNING
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
this calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions.
REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.

a. Ensure TI has the latest firmware; refer to TI manufacturer's manual for update
instructions.
b.
Install TI ETTS BrainPak, PN 09-0104-34, into UxValidator.
c. Connect the TI ETTS Pod Self-Test Harness, PN 10-0308-07, to J1 of the
UxValidator.
d. Connect the other end of the TI ETTS Self-Test Harness to TI ETTS Pod, PN 09-
0104-31.
e. Connect the TI Hi-Speed Data Cable, PN 10-4040-40, between the A1 port of the
UxValidator and the data port of the TI ETTS Pod.
f. Connect the UxValidator Wall Power Adapter Assembly, PN 08-1229-20, to the PWR
port on the UxValidator and plug into a standard 120 V ac, 60 Hz power source.

The UxValidator will turn on and display the Initialization page (fig. 1).
