(2) Use precision level to level sine plate length and width to within 30 arc-sec.
(3) Set TI to On and ensure display is set for degrees.
(4) TI will indicate between -0.1 degrees and 0.1 degrees. If TI indication is not
within limits perform b below.
(5) Rotate TI 180 degrees on sine plate to same location. TI will remain right side
up facing away from technician.
(6) TI will indicate between -0.1 degrees and 0.1 degrees. If TI indication is not
within limits perform b below.
(7) Remove TI from sine plate and setup equipment as shown in figure 2.

(8) Ensure TI is parallel to vertical face of angle plate.
TI must be secured to
prevent movement.
(9) Set TI to On and ensure display is set for degrees.
Record TI indication,
observing sign of indication.
(10) Set index table to 5 degrees. Record TI indication.
(11) Algebraically subtract value recorded in (9) above from value recorded in (10)
above. If result is not within limits specified in first row of table 3, perform b below.
(12) Repeat technique of (10) and (11) for remaining values listed in table 3.
If
results are not within limits specified in table 3, perform b below.
(13) Set index table to 0 degree.
