a. TI's with 45 degree range
NOTE
For TI's with a range of 45 degrees, perform paragraph 15 a.
For TI's with a range of 60 degrees, perform paragraph 15 b.
NOTE
Adjustments to TI will recalculate internal correction factors
which are stored in TI memory. If TI battery is removed,
correction factors calculated in this paragraph will be lost and
TI will revert back to factory determined values.
(2) Use precision level to level sine plate length and width to within 10 arc-sec.
(3) Remove rear cover of TI. Set TI to On.
NOTE
Some older TI's do not have a calibration switch and internal
adjustment cannot be performed.
(4) Refer to figure 4 below. Use a small, blunt object to press TI calibration switch.
CAUTION
Do not move TI sensor shown on left side of TI in figure 4.
(5) Replace TI rear cover. TI will indicate 3.0. Older model TI's will indicate P30.
(6) Place TI on sine plate as shown in figure 1.
(7) Insert a 5.000 inch gage block stack into sine plate.
(8) Wait approximately 2 minutes for TI indication to settle. Press TI HOLD
button. After about 5 seconds, TI will indicate 0.0. Older model TI's will indicate P0.
NOTE
Do not move TI until display indicates 0.0 or P0.
