12. Equipment Setup
WARNING
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
this calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel  fail  to  observe  safety  precautions.  REDUCE
OUTPUT(S)  to  minimum  after  each  step  within  the
performance check where applicable.
a. Measurements can be adversely affected by temperature.
The optimum
temperature for this calibration is 23 C (73.4 F).
b. Exercise TI dials before beginning calibration.
c. Record measurement results for test report if required.
See paragraph 14 for
explanation.
13. Capacitance Accuracy
a. Performance Check
(1) Ensure that the impedance measuring system is set to measure series
capacitance at a test voltage of 1 V rms and a test frequency of 1 kHz.
(2) Perform open and short compensation on impedance measuring system (fig. 4,
connections A and B)
NOTE
When measuring relatively high capacitance (HACS-Z-3E-
1uF), short circuit compensation should be performed after
open circuit compensation. Short circuit compensation has the
dominant impact on high capacitance measurements.
