10. Transmitter Frequency Calibration
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect measuring receiver sensor module to coax cable W4 "Σ" (A5J2).
(2) On the instrument controller, click command button 1030 FREQUENCY
followed by command button OK to close the dialog box and apply the signal.
(3) Set measuring receiver to measure frequency. Measuring receiver will indicate
between 1029.990 and 1030.010 MHz. If measuring receiver is within tolerance, click
command button OK. Radio button will fill indicating that parameter is complete. If
measuring receiver indication is not within tolerance, perform b below.
b. Adjustments
(1) On the instrument controller, click command button CALIBRATE followed by
command button OK to close the dialog boxes.
(2) Use the ▼▲ controls until the measuring receiver indicates as close to 1030.000
MHz as possible. Final adjustment must be between 1029.990 MHz and 1030.010 MHz.
(3) Click command button 1030 FREQUENCY to complete the adjustment. Radio
button will fill indicating that parameter is complete.
11. Transmitter Power Calibration
NOTE
Ensure appropriate power sensor is loaded into measuring
receiver. Zero and calibrate measuring receiver as required.
Do not attempt to zero power sensor while connected to TI.
Sporadic signals are present at W3, W4, and J102 DIRECT
Port connections.
a. Performance Check
(1) Ensure coax cable W4 "Σ" (A5J2) is connected to measuring receiver
sensor module.
(2) Connect RF reference source REF FREQUENCY OUTPUT to measuring receiver
EXT REF IN.
(3) Set measuring receiver to utilize external reference.
(4) On the instrument controller, click command button 1030 TX SUM followed by
command button OK to close the dialog box. Wait for measurement receiver to
display frequency.
(5) Record frequency for use in step (13) below.
(6) Select [RF Power] on measuring receiver.
(7) Measuring receiver will indicate 5.0 dBm 1.5 dB. If measuring receiver is
within tolerance, click command button OK. Radio button will fill indicating that
parameter is complete. If measuring receiver indication is not 5.0 dBm 1.5 dB, perform
b below.
