7. Equipment Setup
HIGH VOLTAGE is used or exposed during the performance of
this calibration.
DEATH ON CONTACT may result if
personnel fail to observe safety precautions. REDUCE
OUTPUT(S) to minimum after each step within the
performance check where applicable.
a. Remove protective covers from TI only when necessary to make adjustments.
Replace cover after completing the adjustments.
b. Install TI into oscilloscope B HORIZ compartment using extender.
c. Install vertical amplifier into oscilloscope LEFT VERT compartment.
d. Position oscilloscope controls as listed in (1) through (4) below:
(1) VERTICAL MODE LEFT pushbutton pressed.
(2) HORIZONTAL MODE B pushbutton pressed.
(3) A and B TRIGGER SOURCE VERT MODE pushbutton pressed.
(4) A and B INTEN and INTENSITY controls fully ccw.
e. Pull oscilloscope POWER switch to on position and allow 20 minutes for equipment
to warm-up and stabilize.
f. Position TI controls as listed in (1) through (8) below:
(1) TRIGGERING MODE P-P AUTO pushbutton pressed.
(2) TRIGGERING COUPLING AC pushbutton pressed.
(3) TRIGGERING SOURCE INT pushbutton pressed.
(4) FINE and POSITION controls to midrange.
(5) TIME/DIV switch to 20 s.
(6) VARIABLE control to CAL IN.
(7) MAG pushbutton pressed (X1).
(8) HOLD OFF control to MIN.
8. Dc and Slope Balance
a. Performance Check
(1) Connect oscilloscope calibrator to vertical amplifier CH 1 input.
(2) Adjust oscilloscope INTENSITY, B INTEN, and FOCUS controls for a
convenient display.
(3) Set oscilloscope calibrator for a 50 kHz LEVEL SINE output.
(4) Adjust oscilloscope calibrator amplitude, vertical amplifier VOLTS/DIV switch
and POSITION control for a 0.3 division display centered on oscilloscope.
